As fiber artists and creators, we all have a natural aversion (some more so than others) to frogging our work.  Whether we’re unraveling just a row or two or the whole piece, it’s never pleasant to contemplate losing our creative momentum and the emotional time and effort we’ve invested.

I’ve been thinking this week about the value of making as part of a community. Shared experiences - the simplest acts of breaking bread, gathering for deep connection over steaming cups of coffee, preparing food, learning together in a cozy circle of makers - become anchor points in our existence.

On this day of Independence, we remember and honor the sacrificial endeavors and the brave souls who dreamt of freedom and then made that dream into the beautiful nation we are so fortunate to live in today,
