Shared Making Experiences

Dear Maker-Peeps,

I’m so grateful for our growing In Knit For Love community of makers - this tribe, near and far, sometimes larger and sometimes smaller, that contributes to the growing fabric of joy and survival as we meet week by week.

I’ve been thinking this week about the value of making as part of a community. Shared experiences - the simplest acts of breaking bread, gathering for deep connection over steaming cups of coffee, preparing food, making music, learning together in a cozy circle of makers - become anchor points in our existence.

Shared MAKING experiences, in particular, ignite our innate collective nature in unique ways that feel deeply grounding and a bit primal - like channeling every wise maker-person that ever lived.  Envision our maker ancestors gathered in the tranquil intimacy of ancient maker’s circles - the rhythmic click of needles and gentle whispers of growing fabric drawing them closer together, the warm mutual glow of a fire and shared stories of faith and purpose illuminating the room - connecting them to the very soul of creation itself.

These making moments are moments that matter - moments spun around compassion, humor and shared experience creating common good. By forging anchor points of empathy, friendship, learning and service, we realize the significant role we play in God’s larger tapestry.

Here’s to building a cozy barrier against solitude and to becoming bearers of coziness to humanity and each other through shared creation experiences in the comforting hands of our own Maker.

For all the love and people you put In Knit - and Crochet too.

See you in The Cozy
