Knitted Knockers

$0.00

According to the Knitted Knockers website, knittedknocker.org, Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast. Traditional breast prosthetics are usually expensive, heavy, sweaty and uncomfortable. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can’t be worn for weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers on the other hand are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. This pattern was adapted for ease of use for In Knit For Love from knittedknockers.org bottom up, two needle pattern. All rights remain with knittedknockers.org.

Construction Overview

These knockers are increased from the bottom cast-on edge to the outer edges. Defining purl ridges separate the bottom from the top.  The top is then worked with decreases to the nipple where it is finished with or without a nipple. The knockers are then stuffed with fiberfill stuffing and the hole is left for the wearer to adjust the stuffing and cinch it up.
